My name is Nate and I’m currently a student at the University of Oregon. I’m working towards a degree in Computer and Information Science with a focus on Software Development. To supplement my degree I’m working on a minor in Mathematics.
Last summer I had an intern position at Thetus, a “semantic knowledge modeling and discovery” software company based in Portland, Oregon. I spent 3 months there, mainly writing Flex and Java applications. I will be returning next summer.
Aside from the hard sciences I like to listen to metal, play guitar, read fantasy, and play video-games.
The classes I have yet to take to fulfill the Software Development track and earn a CIS degree:
- CIS 313 Introduction to Data Structures
- CIS 323 Introduction to Data Structures Lab
- CIS 315 Introduction to Algorithms
- CIS 330 C/C++ and Unix
- CIS 410 Introduction to Graphics Programming
- CIS 413 Advanced Data Structures
- CIS 415 Operating Systems
- CIS 422 Software Methodology I
- CIS 423 Software Methodology II
- CIS 425 Principles of Programming Languages
- CIS 443 User Interfaces
- CIS 461 Introduction to Compilers
If all goes well (classes are offered when I’m able to take them) I’ll be done after next year.
